You have a mouse infestation. You know that you can’t just bury your head in the sand and that you have to do something about it. But what?
Many people are turning to a non lethal method of dealing with their mouse problem and are starting to look at a Humane Mouse Trap as an alternative.
The idea of poisoning, crushing or electrocuting the little critters seems to many a step to far so manufacturers have come up with some novel and more humane methods to help you out.
Live Mouse Traps are just that traps that are designed to let a mouse enter but be unable to exit trapping them inside and allowing you to take the mouse to a secluded spot well away from your property and release them back into the wild unharmed.
Ultrasonic Mouse Repellers are popular as all you need to do to protect your property is plug them in and that’s it. They emit a high frequency sound that is unpleasant to a mouse and in theory then keeps them away. They can’t be heard by humans and domestic animals like cats and dogs so are an ideal solution for the squeamish.
Mouse Deterent Covers are designed to be placed over air bricks making entry to your home much more difficult. These are a good idea but remember a if you can stick a ball point pen into a hole then there is enough room for a mouse to enter. Mouse proofing your home is good as it make it more unlikely you’ll get mice entering but it’s not a guaranteed method of keeping mice out.
Many methods exist for exterminating mice and if you’re not concerned about keeping them alive take a look at Snap Traps, Poison or electric traps that electrocute the mice.
Poison would be my last choice of dealing with mice as you almost never find the bodies and you’ve no way of knowing where they’ve finally died.
